Classic Southern BBQ Chain Honors its Macclenny, Jacksonville and Flagler Locations with One Earning the Title of Franchise of the Year
Jacksonville, Fl., February 24, 2022 – As the classic Southern BBQ chain kicks off its 42nd year as a Florida landmark, Woody’s Bar-B-Q is proud to recognize three of its Sunshine State franchises as top performers during 2021. Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Powers Avenue in Jacksonville was honored for Highest Year Over Year Sales Increase, Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Macclenny was honored for Highest Sales in the Franchise System, and Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Flagler was named Franchise of the Year for increased sales, proactivity in marketing and customer experience, positive feedback from patrons and more. All told, there are 15 Woody’s Bar-B-Q locations in the U.S. – stretching from the sandy beaches of Ponte Vedra, Florida to the bustling streets of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Three Florida locations – Ponte Vedra Beach, Green Cove Springs and The ORIGINAL Woody’s Bar-B-Q on University Boulevard in Jacksonville – are corporate owned. The rest are all franchises.

Among the locations recognized for 2021 Sales Performance:
- Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Macclenny – located at 1482 South 6th Street – had the Highest Sales in the Franchise System, marking a 43% increase over its own YOY sales. This location was opened in 2003 by Fred Rhoden and was purchased by Jack Dunsmoor in 2017.
- Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Jacksonville – located at 5930 Powers Avenue – had the Highest Sales Increase Year Over Year, right behind Macclenny with a 39% increase over its own YOY sales. This location was opened in 1982 and was purchased by Jack Dunsmoor in 2013. In addition to Macclenny and Powers Avenue, Dunsmoor also owns Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Cocoa.
- Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Flagler – located at 99 Flagler Plaza Drive in Palm Coast – was recognized as the 2021 Franchise of the Year for overall performance. This location was opened in 1998 and is owned by Matt Crews.
