Woody’s Bar-B-Q® Honors Military During THE PLAYERS Championship 2021

Corporate Location for Southern BBQ Chain to Feature Special Menu for Active Military and Veterans March 9-14

Jacksonville, Fl., March 4, 2021 – For well over a decade, Jacksonville, FL-based Woody’s Bar-B-Q has been proud to take part in THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass. The last six years, the classic Southern BBQ chain has had a presence in the Patriots Outpost – a special venue at the week-long golf tournament designated for active-duty military members, veterans and their families. Last year, Woody’s Bar-B-Q was on deck to serve its crowd-pleasing array of pulled pork, comfort food sides and more to the nation’s heroes, but due to COVID-19, the event was cancelled out of an abundance of caution.

This year, THE PLAYERS returns March 9-14, but on-site capacity will be reduced to ensure the health and safety of all attendees. In support of heightened military restrictions limiting large gatherings and adherence to health and safety protocols, there will not be a Patriots Outpost venue at the 2021 championship. However, to extend the spirit of the Patriots Outpost beyond the borders of THE PLAYERS Championship, working in conjunction with the tournament’s Community Outreach team, Woody’s Bar-B-Q will feature a special menu at its corporate Ponte Vedra Beach location.

Available during the week of THE PLAYERS Championship 2021 – March 9-14, the menu will showcase a select number of the chain’s most popular items at 50% off regular prices for active-duty members of the U.S. military, veterans and their families.

“Even though on-site celebratory activities at THE PLAYERS Championship 2021 have changed due to health and safety protocols, we are delighted to collaborate with Woody’s Bar-B-Q and other key community partners to demonstrate our continued gratitude to military members, veterans and their families,” said Jared Rice, Executive Director of THE PLAYERS Championship. “THE PLAYERS will also host a series of activities in observance of our annual Military Appreciation Day on March 9, including a flyover featuring the 125th Fighter Wing and a day-long, media-led campaign called #Match4Military, to generate awareness and support for military organizations in Northeast Florida, in which THE PLAYERS has committed to match, dollar for dollar, all donations up to $250,000.”

To enjoy THE PLAYERS Championship 2021 Military Appreciation Discount at Woody’s Bar-B-Q, military members must request the special menu and show their valid military/veteran ID. Some of the items included on the special menu are Carolina Pulled Pork Dinner, Smokin’ Spare Ribs Dinner and the chain’s famed Sloppy Woody Sandwich, among others fan favorites. The menu will only be available at Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Ponte Vedra Beach, located at 226 Solana Road, and discounts showcased in the menu will not be valid with any other offer. The special menu with 50% discount is available for dine-in only.
