October means a lot of things to a lot of people. It marks the return of spooky season… leaf peeping season… tailgate season… Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month… Breast Cancer Awareness Month and so much more. At Woody’s Bar-B-Q, we wholeheartedly embrace all those commemorations, but one month-long holiday was not only integral to the founding of our company, it’s also a source of happiness for many of our patrons. Prepare to celebrate National Pork Month with us, BBQ fans!

When we first opened our doors in 1980, our menu featured dishes inspired by a dog-eared collection of recipes penned by the mother of one of our co-founders and company namesake – Woody Mills. Today, all of those items are still available… and we’ve added a few more. Take a peek at some of our most popular pork dishes below and then make plans to commemorate this auspicious occasion with us. With 31 days in October, there’s plenty of time to check some of your favorite pork dishes off your list, maybe even trying something new along the way.

Just for Starters, Swine Diners!

Our Fried Pork Rinds and Potachos are popular pork dishes featured on our Starters menu. Our Pork Rinds are always golden and crispy with the crunch you crave, and our Potachos represent our unique twist on nachos. We take crispy kettle chips then load them up with bbq pork, creamy queso, tomatoes, black olives and jalapenos, all topped with chipotle sauce.

Be Happy as a Pig in Clover

Woody’s Bar-B-Q is pleased to offer pork on a couple of our salads which are perfect for our waistline-watching patrons. Herbivore meets carnivore in Woody’s Famous Bar-B-Q Salad – a cool, crisp salad of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, egg and slices of red onion that can come topped with our sliced, slow-smoked BBQ pork. Hearty meets healthy in our 3-Meat Salad – which is a true meat lover’s salad featuring a bed of cool crisp lettuce, cucumber, egg, slices of red onion and tomatoes topped with our famous BBQ pork, Texas beef brisket AND smoked turkey breast.

The undeniable star of the show in this category is our Sloppy Woody. Our most popular sandwich features a proprietary blend of perfectly prepared BBQ pork and Woody’s secret sauce. Discover why people have been saying BLESS THIS MESS for more than four decades. Not far behind our Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich and Sliced Bar-B-Q Sandwich hold their own, while our Ultimate Pork Sandwich is the talk of the town. For the ultimate in flavor, we combine our sliced BBQ pork and Carolina Pulled Pork then top it with creamy cole slaw, our Southern Sweet BBQ sauce and pickles. We even top our Hawaiian Burger with diced pork and offer it as a meat of choice for our Southwest Wrap.

Mighty Meaty Main Courses

When you’re in the mood for something a little meatier than a salad or sandwich, Woody’s Bar-B-Q offers a variety of stick-to-your-ribs dinners, like – for instance – RIBS! Our falling-off-the-bone Signature Baby Back Ribs and Smokin’ Spare Ribs are both fan favorites – slow-smoked and seasoned to perfection. Our Classic Bar-B-Q dinner features sliced pork, while our Carolina Pulled Pork showcases the pulled variety – both served with garlic bread and your choice of two sides. Of course, the crown jewel of any pork-related celebration would have to be our Pork Sampler – showcasing pork four ways – sliced, pulled, Spare Ribs and smoked sausage. Talk about HOG HEAVEN!!  Pork is also prominently featured in our Taste of Woody’s combo and our Family Feast.
