We can hardly wait! July is a veritable compendium of outdoor celebrations. Kicking off with the parades, cookouts and fireworks on the Fourth of July, the remainder of the month is devoted to National Picnic Month, National Grilling Month, National Anti-Boredom Month and the first leg of the Dog Days of Summer. All of us here at Woody’s Bar-B-Q are big fans of the Great Outdoors, so one of our favorite July commemorations is National Park and Recreation Month – the perfect time to explore your local parks and discover all that they have to offer. You could while away an afternoon playing on the playground, hiking along a scenic and shaded trail or packing a picnic and meeting friends for lunch under your favorite pavilion. There’s also the allure of a night spent under the stars – swapping ghost stories by firelight and sleeping in a tent to the sound of crickets chirping peacefully nearby. It goes without saying that Woody’s Bar-B-Q makes the perfect addition to these excursions – slow-smoked BBQ and picnic tables go together like campfires and s’mores. To help you combine the two, we’ve made a list of some of our favorite parks near our locations – making it easy for you to snag our BBQ, sides, dessert and tea TO GO…
