…and the Foods That Make Them Even Better

With many Woody’s Bar-B-Q locations situated within the Sunshine State’s borders, we don’t always get to witness a traditional change of seasons like many of our neighbors to the north. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t get a case of Fall Fever – especially during the months of October and November. Create a bucket list of Fall-related activities you’d like to tackle before the holidays are upon us. From snuggling under blankets and watching a scary movie to baking pumpkin spice everything to share with your friends and family members, Autumn is a wonderful time to create new traditions and make memories. We’ve pulled together a list of some of our personal favorite Fall activities – as well as our suggestions for the foods that will enhance them further…

Get in the Seasonal Spirit at a Fall Festival

Florida’s charming small towns are terrific destinations for a good old-fashioned Fall Festival. Search the internet for the best Fall Festivals near you and make plans to immerse yourself in the music, arts & crafts, kids’ activities, and heartwarming sense of community. If you don’t feel like partaking in the deep-fried offerings from the festival food vendors, you can always swing by your favorite Woody’s Bar-B-Q on the way home to enjoy a variety of our slow-smoked BBQ, comfort food sides, ice-cold sweet tea and decadent desserts – either at our dining room table or your own. View our full menu HERE.

Take Part in a Tailgate Party

Whether you’re a college football or pro ball fan, the Fall is a wonderful time to show your team spirit at a tailgate party. From a tent in a parking lot just outside the stadium to a cozy sectional in your own living room, you can create a fun event in the hours leading up to the big game. Between a cooler full of beer and a friendly cornhole competition, what really makes a tailgate party GREAT is the food. Instead of hauling out the grill and spending time cooking when you COULD be talking smack about which team will win, consider looking to Woody’s Bar-B-Q as your tailgate party HQ! You can design your own menu around our slow-smoked meats by the pound, ribs by the rack, sides and puddings by the pint or quart, sweet tea by the gallon and whole pies. For larger gatherings, you can talk to the team at the Woody’s Bar-B-Q near you about catering your event. View our catering menu HERE.

Get Nostalgic at a Drive-In Movie

Florida still boasts a handful of drive-in movie theaters – a real treat of an experience for a date night or family outing. See if there’s a drive-in within a short drive of you, find a crowd-pleasing movie, pack the car with blankets, pop up chairs and pillows and plan a picnic. While many of these theaters still offer a concessions’ stand, to avoid the lines, you might want to arrive with dinner in tow. Woody’s Family Feast makes a great and easy grab-n-go option for an adventure like this. Available for two or four people, our Feast comes complete with family-sized portions of our BBQ pork, BBQ chicken and spare ribs served with BBQ beans, creamy cole slaw, french fries, fried corn on the cob and garlic toast – along with all the napkins, utensils and sauces you’ll need for a tasty meal in the warm glow of the projector light. Hopefully, the movie will be as good as your dinner!

Pitch a Tent and Light a Campfire

You don’t have to venture out to the woods (unless you want to) to have a fun night camping out under the stars. You can always head out to the backyard and pitch your tent. While we don’t recommend a traditional campfire in the yard, you can use a firepit to light a fire, roast some marshmallows, make some s’mores and tell some spooky stories. For your campground cuisine, our Bar-B-Q Chicken Feast feeds four and includes an entire BBQ chicken served alongside creamy cole slaw, our own special recipe BBQ beans, french fries and garlic toast. We’ll be happy to cut that chicken up into individual portions so it’s easy to serve up to all of your hungry campers.

Get Lost in a Corn Maze

Florida boasts a number of family-owned farms that feature corn mazes and pumpkin patches for autumnal explorers. Hit a hay ride, pick a few apples and tackle any available kids’ activities. Chances are, after spending hours on the farm, you’re bound to work up a powerful hunger. Pop by your local Woody’s Bar-B-Q for a great meal you can share while discussing everyone’s favorite activity of the day. Too tired to dine-in? We can pack your meal to go!

If taking part in a food competition is on your Fall bucket list, be sure to sign up for our famous Rib Eating Contest at Woody’s Bar-B-Q of Ponte Vedra Beach on October 22!
