Florida-Based Barbecue Chain Prepares for Opening in Broward County in Early April

Jacksonville, Fl., March 26, 2019 – With roots firmly planted in the Deep South, Woody’s BBQ has opted to move even DEEPER South. Marking the opening of its newest franchise location, Woody’s BBQ of Pembroke Pines will soon serve barbecue lovers in Broward and Dade Counties. Headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, leaders at the classic Southern barbecue chain are excited to see the reaction from South Floridians to its signature menu of slow-smoked meats and comfort food sides that fans have come to know and love since the company’s launch in 1980. Southwest Ranches residents, Roberta and Joel Padron are at the helm of the newest Woody’s BBQ franchise – which is located at 18283 Pines Boulevard in Pembroke Pines.

“I love making people happy, so the opening of Woody’s BBQ of Pembroke Pines is driven largely by my desire to do what I know and do it well for the enjoyment of others,” said Roberta Padron, the newest Woody’s BBQ franchisee. “I have been in the restaurant industry since my first job at 14 and I’ve always wanted to start a family business in which my whole family could be a part. Joel and I really like the support and learning curve that franchise ownership offers, and Woody’s fit exactly what we were looking for. It’s a family-owned company with high values and standards that has been in business for nearly 40 years. Most importantly, their food is delicious. In just a matter of weeks, we’ll be providing our guests with an amazing barbeque experience unlike any other in our area.”

Padron believes that everyone loves great tasting food and amazing service, and she pledges that Woody’s BBQ of Pembroke Pines will offer both. Although expertly prepared barbecue is at the heart and soul of the operation, the restaurant will offer something for everyone on its extensive menu. She should know a thing or two about it, having worked in and/or managed restaurants since her early teens. This new restaurant represents an opportunity for her family to benefit from their combined experience, hard work and passion. The Padrons have strong ties to the community that surrounds their new restaurant. Both Roberta and Joel were born in Miami and grew up in Broward County, FL. The couple currently lives in Southwest Ranches which is less than 5 minutes from their new restaurant, offering them the chance to serve the community in which they live.

In addition to its regular menu and brand-wide promotions featured throughout the year, Woody’s BBQ of Pembroke Pines plans to offer a “Kids Eat Free” night and large selection of local craft beers. The Padrons look forward to adding a few other fun events after opening such as Trivia Night, Dinner Specials, and fundraising nights in partnership with local schools and churches. They also plan to host an official Grand Opening sometime in May 2019.

“Between our strong ties to the community, the fact that good barbecue is desperately needed in this area and the training, guidance, and support offered to us as new franchisees by Woody’s Corporate team, I feel as though we have all the pieces in place to open a thriving and successful business,” added Padron. “I can’t wait for our guests to try some of my personal favorites like the Smoked Wings in the signature Dallas sauce with our house made ranch dressing. There’s also the Angus Bacon Cheddar Burger, Fried Catfish, Memphis-style spare ribs, Fried Squash, and – of course – the Baby Back Ribs. I have yet to find something I don’t love on the menu!”

Woody’s BBQ of Pembroke Pines is in the Shoppes of Silver Lakes Plaza – to the right of Publix. It’s on Pines Boulevard, four miles west of I-75 and five miles east of U.S. 27. Once open, to go and catering orders can be placed by calling (954) 500-4BBQ (4227).

When not hard at work at Woody’s BBQ of Pembroke Pines, the Padron family can be found in the congregation at Potential Church in Cooper City or happily waiting in line at one of the Disney parks. They also enjoy attending local community events like the Davie Rodeo, fishing, boating, and spending time with friends and neighbors.

“Roberta and Joel Padron are exactly what we look for in a Woody’s BBQ franchise family,” said Yolanda Mills-Mawman, President and Co-Founder of the classic Southern barbecue chain. “They offer a wealth of industry experience, they know their audience and they have the drive to succeed. We provide them with recipes that have stood the test of time and the tools required to run a successful operation. Everyone here at the Corporate Office is excited to watch them build their business and grow a following among Broward County residents.”
